They lost the plot when they removed historic F1 cars in favor of supercars. It's a Formula 1 game, nobody wants to drive supercars in an F1 game, I'll go play Forza or GT for that.

This is what ea does. They get an exclusive license to a sports game and it gets worse each year. The worst thing for gamers is these companies having no competition. Competition breeds better games. Without it we get this.

EA wants to drop F1 games. Trust me I know where this is going. The same happened to NASCAR games with EA. Great games that improved every year (F1 2016-2020) stopped innovating but being decent games (F1 2021, 23) and then started to ruin abd not care about then just to loose the license and move on (F1 24)

A lot of people still didn’t get (all) of their champions edition perks they were promised So even after everything people actually didn’t get their moneys worth yet. And this is confirmed by EA staff who stated many people are not getting all the perks. I’m happy with what we got and controller handling for both pre and after patch felt great. So everyone each had their own preferences.

Its EA. If they cant monitize an ultimate team mode, they will do nothing to improve it. I anticipate them dropping F1 because there are no avenues to making people spend money weekley on card packs. Every one of their other games stopped developing after ultimate team was introduced.

This game is an arcade game. Anyone who thinks it's a sim is kidding themselves. The fact people are fighting over esports on this is a joke. Someone who has never driven any car before could do this.

Well often it is veryyyy buggy for a long time. They still can't figure out how to not make it work properly. And then of course re-using the same basics over and over and over and over again.

A new sportsgame every year is pointless. A paid update should do it. For F1, for Fifa etc

They went wrong the minute Codemasters sold out their soul to EA. That was the worst decision ever made by management and now the games are a shadow of what they used to be. EA like Ubisoft and Activision Blizzrad destroy IPs.

It's absolutely wild how they've spent years trying to make it appealing to casuals but New Star GP probably has the best casual career mode that utilizes some sim elements such as tire wear, pit strategy, tire cooling, etc in a way that wasn't overwhelming

TBH if you're on pad or keyboard you should just stay away from F1 games. Like you said, 1000hp RWD car, that's not something you should button-drive. If you could afford a $70 game you could afford a cheap wheel

Man, what is happening to the Formula 1 video game community is pretty sad to see in my opinion. F1 2019 and 2020 were when Codemasters F1 games were at their peak in terms of features and especially replay value. Fantastic back then. As for the current game F1 '24, I have not bought it yet but if I do it must be at a lower cost as I think the upgrade is not worth the price tag at the moment. In the video, you said: "it feels like they are trying to appeal to everyone while attracting no one." That is a good description as some people want realism (or Esports focused things) whereas other people want the easiest racing game experience they can get - trying to do both is difficult and pleases nobody. From what I have seen on UA-cam in terms of content creators' series, the new Driver Career does look cool and fun but the issues and bugs are hard to ignore at this stage. The game looks unfinished and unpolished to me and I feel that it releasing in May was not a smart decision by EA and Codies. It can redeem itself but even after a few patches, it will not be easy. I am not saying it can't happen at this point however (I know nothing really). I miss the 2019 and early 2020 days of the F1 game scene as that era was when I was watching multiple series from many different UA-camrs fairly consistently and those games had so much going for it; plus the content was absolutely endless. Since then in my opinion, the decline has been noticeable and that sucks. Hopefully when next gen comes along for 2025 onwards, things will improve again. Needs to be season updates! No one wants to shell out this insane price every year for essentially the same content. Let's see what EA WRC do, but I think they will go down the season update route. Needs to become a platform like Forza and just get updates until an overhaul.

For lack of innovation I left FIFA, after 17. F1 23 will be my last F1 game until a new engine, or new company to make F1 games.

Here's another thing that has been bugging me... the penalty system. In the game, you get two warnings, then the third time you go over the line, you get a penalty. In real life, you get three warnings, then the black and white flag with the third, THEN you get a penalty with the fourth violation. ...how come they have never adjusted this?

They just don't know how to be consistent making an anual game. Handling wasn't a thing to change, in fact , 2023 physics are really good. They have a lot of work to make a race more realistic without being a hardcore simulator. Weather needs some changes to have more variable race conditions. AI can be improved, is good but they can make it better. Also we need all circuits updated, with scanner if possible because they can. At this point is just ea giving no effort to make a new game, change some things and they think it deservesto be fully priced

I'm gonna be honest say that I think we are experiencing what we all feared when the announcement of EA taking over Codies was first announced (I know I definitely feared this was gonna happen) When EA takes over F1 and Codies they would basically kill the series and make games that are an absolute pile of dog crap which unfortunately we are slowly witnessing Cuase like when Codies was in control they were on an up and their games were actually improving and getting better. But now because EA is in control and they make the decisions and not Codies it's all going to crap and it isn't really Codies fault as they can't really do anything or say anything as they are under the control of EA

I bought F1 games on playstation from Formula one... even before on Megadrive. I think modern gaming forget its a video game and too concerned with simulation. There is no fun with codemastera and EA. I had stopped day 1 purchases since 2020. Sorry :(

honestly after F1 2020 i bought ACC, and i never went back to F1 games, i got more interested into GT3 racing, im still a huge F1 fan but i dont play these games anymore. I dont like arcadish racing games

For me the biggest issue is the same with the FIFA games, same full price every year with little to none new features to singleplayer, and they always fuck up the handling somehow

REALISM, REAL SIMULATION is all the people want. Not a Sim-cade but as close to realism as we possibly can get.

The day EA got involved = was the end of the F1 title. It's like Madden, NHL, MLB, and all other EA titles.
